Bold Ideas. Big Voices: Here’s How Zimmer Biomet Stood Out at The MedTech Conference 2025

Purpose, vision and innovation took center stage as our leaders energized the MedTech community in San Diego.

Zimmer Biomet powered future-shaping conversations at AdvaMed’s The MedTech Conference, where thousands of innovators, industry leaders, policymakers and visionaries gathered to help shape the future of healthcare. Across keynote stages, panel discussions, meetings with global regulators from our major markets, and even a morning run along the water, our leaders showcased what it means to lead with purpose, drive meaningful innovation and put the patient at the heart of everything we do.

In case you missed it, here are a few unforgettable moments from the event that defined our impact and the future of MedTech:

Visionaries Defining the Future of Healthcare

In one of the most talked-about sessions of the conference, Chairman, President and CEO Ivan Tornos and Chief Movement Officer Arnold Schwarzenegger, shared defining moments, perspectives and essential takeaways on leadership, resilience, bold thinking and personal purpose as drivers of meaningful change in MedTech and beyond.

Tornos shared how we’re leveraging data and technology to improve patient outcomes, while Schwarzenegger brought his trademark energy and perspective on overcoming challenges and staying mission focused. The dialogue provoked fresh thinking and encouraged the thousands of attendees to challenge the status quo.

Waking Up to Patient Centricity in MedTech

Tornos joined fellow industry leaders for a CEOs Unplugged session, diving into what it truly takes to keep patients at the center of innovation. The dialogue went beyond buzzwords, emphasizing the need for MedTech companies to listen, learn and act on the real needs of patients and clinicians alike. Tornos underscored Zimmer Biomet’s commitment to raise awareness of osteoarthritis, one of the four key orthopedic challenges the company works tirelessly to address. In particular, he highlighted our direct-to-patient marketing campaigns to support and motivate people on their mobility journeys and emphasized our ongoing work integrating digital, connected technologies and data insights to better serve patients.

Shaping Policy for MedTech Innovation

The MedTech Conference draws international delegations of regulators and policy makers from major markets around the world. Our leaders held one-on-one meetings with officials from the U.K., EU, and Japan to discuss Zimmer Biomet's innovation cycle and patient access to our technologies. From smarter regulatory harmonization for easier market access to investment incentives for the next generation of innovation, Zimmer Biomet leaders shape the conversation about the future of MedTech.

The #MTC25 Fun Run

Movement is life – and we put that philosophy into action by sponsoring the first-ever MedTech Conference Fun Run. Ahead of Day 2 activities, hundreds of attendees laced up their sneakers for a 5k or 1 mile run to take part in a morning of movement, community and inspiration.

Whether it’s through joint replacement, robotics or digital health, we’re committed to helping people move forward, and the Fun Run was a joyful reminder of why we innovate: to help keep people moving.

From thought-provoking discussions to moments of shared energy and purpose, Zimmer Biomet didn’t just attend The MedTech Conference, we forged connections and advanced important conversations shaping the future of healthcare – all guided by our Mission to alleviate pain and improve the quality of life for people around the world.
